Accounts Software

The digital age has transformed accounting. Cloud accounting has now replaced spreadsheets and paper ledgers for many and this trend is set to continue as HMRC continues to roll out its Making Tax Digital (MTD) programme.

What is cloud accounting?

Instead of accounting software being loaded to one computer, cloud accounting software allows you access to your data anytime, anywhere – providing you have an internet connected device and ,of course, your login details!

You can give access to different individuals and choose their level of access. This includes people working off site, in different offices and your bookkeeper and accountant.

Is it secure?

This is a natural concern for any business owner but the cloud is one of the most secure ways to store your data.

Imagine your laptop is stolen. All your data is gone! But not if you are on the cloud – it’s still there and it can only be accessed by someone who has your log in details.

Or imagine there is a flood or fire at your premises. With the cloud your data is stored safely and securely off site. All you need is a internet connected mobile device or computer and your login details and you have access to your data once again – one less thing to worry about while you deal with your insurers!

Cloud-based software companies ensure that the security and privacy of data about you and your business is always securely protected. If you use internet banking, which uses the same principles, you’re almost ready to go.

Still concerned? Give us a call on 07481 019451 and we can discuss it further.

It’s environmentally friendly too!

Reports show that ‘cloud’ computing is good for the environment. WIth cloud accounting, invoices can be created and sent by email, cutting out the need for printed copies. And when you receive an invoice by email, you can just add it to your records as a PDF attachment. With certain software providers, you can scan receipts directly into your accounting records – a format which is HMRC compliant.

Which provider is best for me?

QuickBooks

No doubt you’ve seen their adverts. QuickBooks is great for those who want some ‘hands on’ involvement – even if that’s just looking at which invoices have been paid and what payments have been made. Its clear, user-friendly graphics on the Business Overview section of the dashboard give you an easy-to-understand picture of what’s going on in your business, and we can produce more detailed reports if you need them.

We are Gold partners with QuickBooks.

Xero

In recent years Xero has become a major player in the accounting software world and it’s easy to see why! From the moment you log in you can clearly see what is happening in your business. The Xero dashboard has graphs and tables to give you the insight you need at a glance, and has the added benefit of being able to be tailored to your needs. Ideal for small to medium businesses, Xero has global capability with all the functionality you need.

We are fully certified as Xero Advisors.

Landlord Vision

A great piece of software for managing your property portfolio. Tenant payments can be checked and costs can be allocated against the whole portfolio or against a specific property, meaning you can not only keep a check on how the portfolio is performing, but also each individual property. It is the preferred software for many landlords as it is an all-in-one software that also enables them to store property documents and manage the tasks and responsibilities of a landlord.

We are a Landlord Vision Approved Bookkeeper.

FreeAgent

With its clear and fuss free layout FreeAgent is very user-friendly and designed for micro-businesses (under 10 employees) as well as those under IR35.  Also, if you are a NatWest or RBS Business Account holder, it has the major benefit of being free!

We are accredited as FreeAgent Expert Practitioners.

Sage

One of the most widely recognised accounting brands and traditionally a favourite with many accountants.

We are Sage trained and accredited.

Your Choice

Of course, there are many others that you may already be working with. We are happy to work with your preferred supplier or help you migrate to a new supplier – the choice is yours!
